President Donald Trump announced Sunday that the United States is engaged in “very deep talks” with Iran, while warning that “strong military action” remains on the table if diplomatic efforts fail to produce results. The comments came as U.S. forces observed a pause in strikes against Iranian targets.
Trump addressed reporters during a press availability, emphasizing that military pressure had forced Tehran to the negotiating table. “The only reason they want to meet is because we’ve been hitting them very hard,” the president said. “They understand now that we are serious.”
